Azerbaijan and Turkey Leaders Discuss Possible Elimination of Visa Requirements

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul discussed the possibility of visa-free travel between their two countries while Gul was in Baku for a two-day official visit.

During the press conference following the two state leaders’ meeting, Aliyev said that the numerous agreements between Azerbaijan and Turkey create a legal foundation for strengthening ties.

“As you know, Turkey has taken all the practical steps for the unilateral elimination of visa requirements for all Turkic-speaking countries. We are grateful for this step. I hope that after all the necessary internal procedures are completed, Azerbaijan will also take similar steps,” said Aliyev, APA reports.
