Russia Doesn’t Welcome Military Threats on Karabakh Issue

Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov confirmed Russia’s position, which is that it’s necessary to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through peaceful means.

“The peaceful resolution of the issue is noted in every accepted document related to Nagorno-Karabakh. This is Russia’s, the Minsk Group’s and the UN Security Council’s position. Resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh issue through peaceful means is the main point of our efforts,” said Lavrov in an interview with Armenian public television.

According to the Russian FM, Russia will support any version of the settlement that will be in the interests of both Armenia and Azerbaijan. Lavrov also noted that the military threats uttered from time to time do not contribute to the resolution of the issue.
