Armenia’s State Language is Azerbaijani? So Thinks a Macedonian Monthly

The Football Federation of Macedonia’s official monthly magazine dedicated its August issue to the Euro 2012 qualifying round.

As told to Epress.am from our correspondent in Macedonia, a majority of the articles are on Macedonia’s first two qualifying matches with the teams from Slovakia and Armenia.

Naturally, in describing Armenia, the editors noted the country’s territory and the population figure; however, in the column next to Armenia’s state language, it reads… Azerbaijani. The publication also noted that 7.5 billion people live in Armenia (a gross exaggeration, to say the least).

Football Federation of Armenia representatives complained to the Macedonian publication, after which a written apology was issued to the Armenia delegation.
