The Armenian National Congress (HAK) marked the 19th anniversary of Armenia’s independence near Saryan’s statue in central Yerevan. First president of the Republic of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan had also come to congratulate his supporters.
“I can’t compare independence with anything. For me, it can’t be bargained with. Whatever type of independence it’ll be, it’s above everything else for me,” said Ter-Petrosyan.
The HAK leader congratulated both his supporters and non-supporters on occasion of the national holiday. Then he walked around the park in which Saryan’s statue can be found, speaking and congratulating RA citizens.
