Right to People’s Self-Determination Important Above All Else

Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian, representing Armenia at the UN in New York, met with Kosovo’s foreign minister Skender Hyseni, upon the latter’s request.

Nalbandian noted that though Armenia has not recognized Kosovo’s independence, these types of meetings are useful for exchanging thoughts on such issues, according to the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs information and public relations department.

According to the Armenian FM, in July 2010, the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on Kosovo re-affirmed the fact that one of the fundamental principles of international law, the right to people’s self-determination, cannot be subordinate to any other principle.
