HAK Concerned over Developments in Eastern Partnership’s Armenian National Platform

The Armenian National Congress, in a recently released statement, said that the Sept. 16 no-confidence motion passed against National Facilitator and Yerevan Press Club President Boris Navasardian by the Coordination Council (CC) of the Armenian National Platform (ANP) of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (CSF) has raised a deep concern in developing democracy in Armenia and in the spread of European values among the public.

Part of the statement reads as follows:

“With the formation of the Armenian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership, hopes were raised among the Armenian public that the new stage of Armenia–European Union cooperation… would become a turning point for democratic reforms that are so requested in Armenia. However, the RA authorities not only began to delay the negotiations on the contract, but also continued to fail in fulfilling obligations to European institutions which they had undertaken.”
