Yerevan City Hall Issues ‘Strict Reprimand’ to Pushkin School Administration

Apart from the reportedly voluntary resignation by Eduard (or Edward) Gevorgizov, the teacher who was caught on video hitting a student at Yerevan’s No. 8 school named after A. Pushkin, Yerevan City Hall has issued a “strict reprimand” to the school principal, Marieta Matghasyan, and the school administration.

Though the incident caught on tape was filmed in March of this year and uploaded to YouTube in May, the footage was only recently widely shared and circulated on YouTube (Editor’s Note: Currently, the video has been removed by the user and no other details are available at this time.)

The Yerevan City Hall official website also states that the matter has been discussed in a consultation with municipal school principals, who are accountable to the mayor’s office.
