Baku Considers Trilateral Meeting Outcome to be Positive

A declaration was signed as a positive outcome of the trilateral meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia in Astrakhan yesterday, said Azerbaijani Presidential Administration’s Social and Political Department Head Ali Hasanov, reports Trend News.

The document clarifies the issues of returning prisoners of war and the dead bodies of the victims of the Nagorno-Karabakh war, he added.

He said the Azerbaijani people have been concerned about this problem, particularly the issue of returning the body of Mubariz Ibrahimov (who Azerbaijan has since named a “National Hero”), for a long time.

“I think this issue also will be resolved after yesterday’s declaration,” Hasanov added.

The joint declaration signed by the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan have stipulates the immediate exchange of prisoners of war and repatriation of the bodies of those who died while in captivity, based on humanitarian principals.

Any format should be used and any proposals must be discussed to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Hasanov said.
