‘Chopin. Film Motifs’ Program in Yerevan Today & Tomorrow

The AFG Film Club, along with the Embassy of Poland in Armenia, present a film program called “Chopin. Film Motifs.”

According to the AFG Film Club’s Facebook page:

“The program contains selected fictional and documentary films including Chopin themes and devoted to the composer. The materials include the first Polish biographical film about Chopin, Chopin’s Youth, directed by Aleksander Ford and a contemporary fictional film directed by Jerzy Antczak – Chopin. Desire for Love.

“An important element is also documentary films concerning both the youthful and later years of Chopin’s life, mainly those spent in Paris, as well as films presenting select editions of the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Poland.

“Another film worth mentioning is a 1944 short film directed by Eugeniusz Cękalski — Color Studies of Chopin — in which the director transferred three music pieces of the great composer onto the screen providing each of them with a different visual setting.”

All films are in original language with English subtitles and will be screened in the 9th floor auditorium at the National Gallery of Armenia.
