Azerbaijan to Begin Producing Whiskey

In the Caucasus region, Azerbaijan is the first country to begin producing whiskey, reports Fineko/abc.az. According to Tovuz-Baltiya General Director Naig Mammadhasanov, it was the Scots’ idea.

“Until the end of the year, 15,000 bottles will be produced, while future production will depend on the market reaction. At the same time, German producers are already interested in our whiskey. According to them, they even have a demand for Indian production of whiskey,” he said.

Currently. only 20% of Tovuz-Baltiya’s products are available in the Azerbaijani market, while 80% is exported to CIS and EU countries.
