Protest Today Against Opening of Foreign-Language Schools in Armenia

At 5 pm today, in front of the National Assembly building (Baghramyan entrance), the Sardarapat Movement will hold a demonstration against opening foreign-language schools in Armenia.

A statement released by the group recalls that the regular four-day parliamentary session begins on Dec. 6, the agenda of which will include the bill on making amendments to the laws on language and general education.

“This bill provides for the opening of foreign-language schools, which will seriously endanger the Armenian language and the independent state,” reads the statement.
