Human Rights House Foundation Demands Pashinyan’s Release

The Human Rights House Foundation has issued a letter to RA President Serzh Sargsyan, RA Deputy Minister of Justice Nikolai Arustamyan and RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan, asking for the immediate release of political prisoner, chief editor of Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) Nikol Pashinyan.

“The members of the Human Rights House Foundation are seriously concerned with the latest attacks against political prisoner Nikol Pashinyan and call on the Armenian authorities to release him immediately,” reads the letter.

The Human Rights House Foundation further notes that Pashinyan, chief editor of Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) and Armenian National Congress opposition activist, has been sentenced for his political views.

Note, the Human Rights Network (HRHN) unites established and emerging Human Rights Houses (HRH). Seventy NGOs in 15 countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, East and Horn of Africa, and Western Europe are currently part of the Network, according to its official website.
