Turkish PM to Go to Moscow to Enhance Cooperation

Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to go to Russia mid-March on an official visit, said Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu.

According to him, the second session of the Russia-Turkey Joint Strategic Planning Group is to take place during this visit.

“I am confident that this cooperation will enhance our relationship with Russia and bring them to a new level,” said Erdogan.

Note that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was scheduled to arrive in İstanbul on Wednesday for a two-day official visit, when he would co-chair with Davutoglu the first meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group as part of preparations for upcoming meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council between Russia and Turkey — an intergovernmental cooperation mechanism, reports Today’s Zaman.
