Armenian, Azerbaijani, Georgian Human Rights Defenders Demonstrate in Geneva

On March 10, members of the South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders organized a demonstration outside the UN office in Geneva on the protection of human rights: freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, as well as political prisoners of the South Caucasus.

Armenian members of the Network Artak Zeynalyan from “Jurists against torture”, Melissa Brown of Shakhatun NGO  and Mikael Danielyan, Chairman of the Helsinki Assocation of Human Rights, the coordinating organisation of the Network in Armenia, participated in the demonstration.

The South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders unites 30 human rights NGOs in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The Network seeks to facilitate the creation of a safer and more enabling environment for human rights defenders in the South Caucasus and to strengthen their voices both in the region and internationally.
