Armenia Ready to Repatriate Azerbaijani POWs

On Mar. 14, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Yerevan office was informed of Armenia’s readiness, with the support of the ICRC, to transfer Azerbaijani prisoners of war, according to a press release issued by Armenia’s defense ministry today.

Recall, during the meeting of the presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan on Mar. 5 in the Russian city of Sochi, the parties, discussing the issues of practical implementation of the tripartite statement adopted during their last meeting in Astrakhan on Oct. 27, 2010, agreed to complete the exchange of prisoners of war as soon as possible.
