Raffi Hovannisian Says His Hunger Strike is Not a PR Stunt

Camping out on a single bench in Liberty Square since Mar. 15 when he began his hunger strike, Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian says he considers the majority of Armenia’s people to be rational: everyone understands and realizes who’s who and who’s doing what.

The party leader made such a statement at an outdoor press conference today in Liberty Square, responding to journalists’ questions as to how he relates to rumors and reports that his “Fast for Freedom” is a PR stunt.

“In this matter, I’m not worried. I have always been very restrained; I have not pursued PR goals. It’s your business; if you want to approach, to report, it’s your business. It pains me, but in any case, I’m not worried,” he said.
