Sargsyan and Gaddafi are Invited to Turkey

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has been invited to Turkey to participate in the United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, which will take place in Istanbul from May 9–13.

According to Turkish news agency Zaman, also invited to the same conference is Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, as well as the presidents of a number of other countries including Israel and France.

Press reports indicate that the invitation to world leaders was sent not from Turkey’s government but from the UN’s headquarters in New York.
