MP Didn’t Come into the Office Today, But Yerevan Street Traders Expecting a Response

Yerevan street vendors protesting the ban on street trade again took to the streets — this time protesting outside the headquarters of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), not too far from Republic Square.

Protestors today said they were outside the HHK headquarters to receive a response from Galust Sahakyan, head of the HHK parliamentary faction, following their meeting on Apr. 15. As told to Epress.am, Sahakyan promised to discuss the issue and respond.

The street vendors, however, said, they were told that Sahakyan is ill and hasn’t come into the office today.

They were still congregating outside the HHK office and discussing their future steps at the time of publication.

Recall, on Apr. 15, protestors said if they get a negative response, they are prepared to organize a sit-in.
