Armenian Foreign Ministry Responds to Death of Armenian Soldiers

“During the past two days three soldiers were killed by Azerbaijani snipers on the line of contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan,” begins a press release issued today by Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which continues as follows:

“The situation created because of Azerbaijan’s adventurous behavior is creating additional tension and influencing negatively on the negotiation process.

“Azerbaijan shows that it can ignore the calls by different international boards and countries on consolidation of ceasefire, withdrawal of snipers, strengthening of confidence and resolution of problems by peaceful means.

“This behavior deserves the most severe condemnation by the international community.”

As previously reported, on Apr. 28, conscript Vazgen Bakhshyan, 19, was fatally shot along the Line of Contact. Following this incident, two other Armenian soldiers were killed again as a result of ceasefire violations.
