‘We’ll Talk According to Future Developments’: HAK on Serzh Sargsyan’s Amnesty Call

“We follow events closely. At this time, I will refrain from making comments because we currently don’t have enough information. According to future developments, we will talk,” Armenian National Congress (HAK) press spokesperson Arman Musinyan told Epress.am earlier today in response to a request to comment on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s announcement to propose the parliament consider an amnesty.

Earlier, HAK senior representative Levon Zurabyan had said that “a political process [has begun] where all political prisoners will be released on May 28” (the day when Armenia celebrates Republic Day, the day in 1918 when Armenia first gained independence). Zurabyan had also said that if Nikol Pashinyan and Sasun Mikaelyan (both imprisoned HAK loyalists) are not released by May 31 and don’t make it to the rally organized by HAK on that day, he is personally prepared to begin a sit-in.
