Yerevan Street Traders Say No Mini-Market Yet Built for Them

Another altercation took place between street traders on Tigran Mets Ave. and Yerevan City Hall staff on Sunday. For the past 6 months, street traders who normally work in the area below Ayrarat cinema have been actively protesting the ban on street trade that came into effect at the start of this year.

Street trader Gayane informed Epress.am that city employees once again instructed vendors to gather their goods and leave, otherwise they will seize their goods permanently.

“They say go from here; we’re building a mini-market for you; go there and do your trade, but they have not yet build a mini-market. And those areas that they’re proposing to do trade, we can’t sell our goods there since we have few products and we won’t be able to carry out normal trade in a large market,” she said.
