Robert Kocharian and Hraparak Editor Armine Ohanyan Not Yet Called as Witnesses in Kocharian v. Hraparak Case

The preliminary court hearing in the case of second president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharian vs. local daily Hraparak resumed in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork Marash Administrative Districts today.

As reported by Hraparak.am, it became evident in court that the parties had not reconciled.

In court today, Hraparak representative Ara Zohrabyan again tried to clarify the content of the lawsuit — which words or expressions the plaintiff considers libellous and which, insulting. Representatives of the plaintiff, Arpine Melikbekyan and Sargis Grigoryan, today again motioned to call Hraparak editor Armine Ohanyan and author of the original article Lusine Petrosyan to court as witnesses.

Zohrabyan, in turn, motioned that in such a case to invite also Robert Kocharian as a witness, since “no one better than he can say what he was insulted by in particular.”

The court sustained the motions in part — Lusine Petrosyan will be called to testify as a witness in the next court hearing.
