PHOTOS: Armenian Artists Leave their Mark on European Streets

Within the framework of Transkaukazja (Transcaucasia) Festival (launched in Warsaw in 2004), Armenian contemporary artists and Art Laboratory NGO members Ara Petrosyan, Garik Yengibaryan and Edgar Amroyan were invited to take their street art to German city of Chemnitz. Earlier, Epress.am presented the works of Garik Yengibaryan and Edgar Amroyan — this time Ara Petrosyan, who has also done some work in Prague, described his project to Epress.am/

“My project is called ‘Freedom,’ and it’s dedicated to the struggle for freedom — beginning from the start of the 20th century (Marx, the labor movement, the Bolsheviks) and at the end again we return to our time. For my last two pieces, I used photos from the events of Mar. 1, 2008. And at the bottom of the paintings it’s written 01.03.2008,” he said.
