Temperatures in Armenia to Begin to Drop Starting July 9

Temperatures of 38 to 39 degrees Celsius are expected today in Yerevan, the plains of Ararat and the valleys of Syunik marz (province). The possibility of temperatures rising to 39.5 degrees Celsius is not ruled out, head of the operative hydrometeorological center at the Armenian Hydrometeorology and Monitoring State Service Zaruhi Petrosyan told Epress.am Friday.

Petrosyan noted that temperatures will drop by 1 to 2 degrees tomorrow and Sunday.

“On Jul. 12, the temperature will drop another 2–3 degrees. The temperature is lower these days in July as compared with the same period last year. On Jul. 11 last year temperatures of up to 41 degrees were recorded,” she said.

According to the meteorologist, on Jul. 9, there will be precipitation in the northern half of the country, whereas on Jul. 12 there will be precipitation everywhere.
