Woman Found Dead in Armenian Village was Newspaper Editor

Armenian police have uncovered the identity of a woman found dead on Sept. 1 500m from the Ararat (Charents) Arch monument in the village of Voghjaberd in the Armenian marz (province) of Kotayk.

 

The woman was 51-year-old Alvard Abrahamyan, editor of the newspaper Menk Merontsov (“Just Us”), who was declared missing by Nor Nork police since Sept. 10.

 

Police report that there were traces of an attack found on the woman’s neck.
