2 Armenian Women Caught with Smuggled Goods Detained in Istanbul

Customs officers at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport found and subsequently seized USD200,000 dollars’ worth of alcoholic beverages, tobacco and black caviar upon searching two women traveling from Armenia.

According to Turkish media reports, suspicious behavior exhibited by the two Armenian nationals, who had come from Moscow, caught the attention of customs officials. Finding the large quantity of smuggled items on their person, customs officials detained the women and launched legal proceedings.
