It’s Official: Vladimir Gasparyan, Police Chief. Alik Sargsyan, Presidential Advisor

A decree by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today released Alik Sargsyan from the position of Chief of RA Police and appointed him Advisor to the President.

Another presidential decree released Lieutenant-General Vladimir Gasparyan (pictured) from his position as Deputy Minister of Defense and appointed him as Chief of RA Police.

Gasparyan was born Sept. 9, 1958, in Tallinn, Estonia. He has been working in the RA Armed Forces since 1997, when he was appointed Chief of RA Military Police. He was awarded the military rank Major-General in 2001.

He is married with 4 children.
