Russia Art Group Parodies Benetton Kissing Politicians Campaign (PHOTOS)

Late Wednesday night, activists with notorious art group Monolog pasted in the streets of Moscow posters of kissing party leaders competing for seats in the upcoming Dec. 4 elections of Russia’s State Duma (parliament), reports Newsru.com.

The posters are a parody of the recent controversial Benetton campaign featuring various state and religious leaders in a lip-locked embrace. In Monolog’s version, Yabloko party leader Grigory Yavlinksy (below, left) is embracing Speaker of the State Duma, United Russia party leader Boris Gryzlov (below, right). While in another poster, State Duma Vice Chair and Liberal Democratic Party of Russia leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s lips are caressing those of Communist Party of Russia First Secretary Gennady Zyuganov (second image).

The words “Come to the polls and vote for all” (in a touch of sarcasm) accompanies the embracing politicians.
