All But One of Iranians Injured in Yerevan Night Club Blast Discharged from Hospital

Of the 10 people injured in a fire at a Yerevan night club, 8 have been discharged from hospital. The two still in hospital are one citizen of Iran and one citizen of Armenia, Vahe Mirakyan, who had helped the others escape from the fire. Note, the remaining 8 were also citizens of the Islamic Republic.

Police earlier reported that the fire on the second floor of the Alen & Elen disco club that struck at 1:05 am on Mar. 20 was the result of a hand grenade thrown by local resident Vardan Demirchyan, who has since been detained.

As told to Epress.am by Dr. Gayane Rshtuni with the toxicology department at Armenia Republican Medical Center, Mirakyan feels fine and is preparing to go home. Epress.am was also informed that the condition of the Iranian citizen still in hospital is somewhat serious — his burns are not that deep, but he has acute breathing problems. “Despite that, he wants to be discharged, but he cannot breathe without the aid of equipment.”
