Armenian Diaspora Minister : ‘I Imagined I was Shooting Aliyev’

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan along with other government staff on Tuesday donned army fatigues and participated in a extraordinary cabinet meeting, which had not been announced beforehand, reports local daily Haykakan Zhamanak.

According to an official government statement, within the framework of the Ardzaganq 2013 ("Response 2013") military drills, members of the government presented a proposal to the prime minister to take action to neutralize possible threats and prepare the country’s defense.

After the meeting, the newspaper reports, cabinet members left to practice shooting in a designated area in the province of Armavir.

“According to eyewitnesses, after shooting, Hranush Hakobyan told her colleagues, ‘When shooting, I imagined I was shooting [Azerbaijani President Ilham] Aliyev’,” reports the paper.
