A criminal case in connection with the death of military serviceman Edik Shahnazaryan was launched under Article 376 Section 2 of the RA Criminal Code (negligent service by a commander or official that resulted in grave consequences). A forensic examination has been appointed.
According to official preliminary data, the soldier, who was called to compulsory military service a week ago from the village of Kot of Tavush marz (province), died the morning of Jan. 20 in Echmiadzin's Vagharshapat Hospital. Hospital staff informed Gala TV that the young man was dead upon arrival or died at the hospital entrance, as they didn't even have time to take him to the intensive care unit.
