Armenian Public TV Executive Director Grades Deceased Student’s Exam

Second-year master's students at the Yerevan State University's Faculty of Journalism have found themselves in a desperate situation because of "Introduction to Marketing and Advertising" lecturer Margarita Grigoryan, reports local daily Zhoghovurd.

The newspaper reports that Grigoryan, who is also the Executive Director of the Public TV Company of Armenia (H1) and is considered the protégé of the Armenian presidential residence, not only doesn't come to class, but also has twice missed midterm exams.

Grigoryan is constantly late to class and sends the lecture in Russian by email to the students ahead of the exam.

Students informed Zhoghovurd editors that though Grigoryan was absent at the Dec. 17 exam, she graded their written exams and gave the students a 2 (out of 5, which is a fail).  The lecturer also graded the exam of senior year student Rima Ghazaryan, who died in November 2013 from illness. The students concluded that the lecturer did not check the work and simply assigned (the failing) grades randomly.

Students were unable to meet with YSU Rector Aram Simonyan yesterday, as he is currently out of the country. They wrote an appeal to the rector, providing the details of Grigoryan's irresponsible attitude.
