Stop Violence Against Women: One Billion Rising Flashmob in Yerevan (VIDEO)

A campaign that uses dance to end violence against women marked on February 14 was held also on Northern Avenue in central Yerevan. Members of several initiatives organized a flashmob to rise for justice, joining the One Billion Rising campaign. 

Under the slogan "Our body is for a happy life. Join us and say no to violence," participants danced and talked to passers-by, telling them about the meaning and importance of the event. 

Campaign participants also distributed leaflets in which it said that, according to UN statistics, 1 in 3 women worldwide experiences violence in her life.

"On this day, women in countries around the world stand up and dance. [One] Billion Rising is a global movement to end violence against women and raise women's voices," Society Without Violence NGO representative Anna Nikoghosyan told the Epress.am correspondent.
