Armavia’s Former Employees Came Upon an Empty Office

Employers of the now defunct Armavia Armenian airline company, who have been fighting for about a year for their unpaid wages, are now in a desperate situation, reports local daily Zhoghovurd.

One of the employees told the newspaper that he went to the Armavia office to once again demand the money to which they are entitled only to find that the office was empty.

"We entered and saw that our director of finance, the treasurers, the accountants were not there. There was no one. The offices were empty — there were no chairs, no desks," he told the newspaper.

According to one of the company's former engineers, as an example of the amount of debt owing, Armavia owes 18 million AMD (about $43.5 thousand USD) to one of the pilots.
