Armenian Government Presents National Scout Movement with a Forest

The Government of the Republic of Armenia today decided to provide the right to use 3 hectares of forest land within Yerevan's administrative district indefinitely to the National Scout Movement of Armenia. The National Scout Movement of Armenia is a voluntary children and youth, extracurricular, apolitical and non-military organization "which aims to educate a responsible, conscious, socially active and spiritually strong, patriotic generation."

In recent years, the organization has been provided with a plot of land to build a rest house and playground, where the organization has carried out construction work and created the opportunity to hold events for up to 600 people.

"We have to express our satisfaction to this organization for the work its done in the past," said RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargysan, according to the government's website. "Studying their experience, visiting those camps, we see that they do very patriotic work, so we are confident that this is the right decision."

The government is confident that with the new plot of land the organization will be more effective in organizing its activities.
