Armenian Mining Giants Paid Less Tax This Year: Newspaper

The four "giants" in Armenia's mining industry — Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine, GeoProMining, Agarak Copper Molybdenum Combine, and Deno Gold Mining Company — in the first quarter of 2014 together paid a total of 6 billion 595 million AMD in taxes.

Local daily Haykakan Zhamanak reports that compared to last year, these four companies paid 800 million AMD, or about 10%, less in taxes this year. And this, when the amount of taxes collected from the top one thousand taxpayers in the country increased by about 5.5% this year compared to last year.
