Armenian Police Chief Arrested on Corruption Charges

Armenia's Special Investigation Service (SIS) launched criminal proceedings based on a report by Arsen P.

According to a statement [AM] on the SIS official website, it was discovered during the preliminary investigation that former Chief of the Investigation Division of the Yerevan Police Kamisar Poghosyan, using his official position, asked and received a bribe of $7,000 from Arsen P. in order to assist him and intervene in the matter of appointing the latter to the position of Road Police Service Inspector. 

Kamisar Poghosyan is arrested.
