Road Connecting Armenia to Russia Continues to Remain Closed

The road connecting the South Caucasus to Russia continues to remain closed, reports [AM] Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations. Earlier, the ministry reported that a landslide,150 meters in length, 60–70 meters wide, and 30–40 meters deep, occurred on May 17 in Georgia's Dariali Gorge in the Kazbegi district near the Russian border. 

As a result, the gas pipeline entering the Republic of Armenia from the Russian Federation was damaged.

Currently, recovery road works are underway. According to preliminary data, the road might remain closed for more than a month.
