Voting Most in Favor of Legislative Proposals are Republican Party of Armenia MPs

Voting in favor the most for various legislative packages at the National Assembly's fifth convocation (operating since May 31, 2012) were ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) MPs Hovhannes Sahakyan and Razmik Zohrabyan —370 times, according to recent figures published on the Parliament Monitoring website [AM]. Voting in favor one time less was current parliamentary speaker Galust Sahakyan. 

The top 10 parliamentarians voting in favor were exclusively representatives of the ruling party.

Among parliamentarians voting most against legislative proposals were Armenian National Congress (HAK) MP Nikol Pashinyan (161 times), followed by Heritage Party MP Alexander Arzoumanian (103 times), and Heritage Party MP Rubik Hakobyan (94 times).

Those abstaining the most were exclusively representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun): Artsvik Minasyan, Aghvan Vardanyan, Armen Rustamyan, and Armen Babayan.

Artsvik Minasyan leads also in the number of speeches in parliament (68 speeches), followed by HHK MP Khosrov Harutyunyan (56 speeches). Among the top 12 most active in terms of making speeches, 5 were HAK MPs: Hrant Bagratyan (41 speeches) in 3rd place, Aram Manukyan (29 speeches) in 8th place, Nikol Pashinyan and Levon Zurabyan share 10th and 11th place with 26 speeches each, and Gagik Jhangiryan (23 speeches) in 12th place. 

Absent the most from discussions on draft laws were members of the Prosperous Armenia Party: party and faction leader Gagik Tsarukyan (370 times) and Gurgen Arsenyan (185 times). In third place was Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan (184 times). Recall, in the past 6 months, she was at a training in the US.
