Major Accident in Georgia: Country Receives Electricity from Armenia

At around 10:30 pm yesterday, as a result of a major accident in the territory of Georgia, the eastern part of Georgia lost electricity for a few hours. The supply of electricity was restored at night. As reported by Georgia Online [RU], Georgia currently receives electricity from two neighboring countries. 

Georgia's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Kakha Kaladze thanked Armenia for its assistance and the supply of electricity. Note, as a result of the accident, the Yerevan-Batumi train stopped for about 4 hours at the Armenia-Georgia border. The customs checkpoints also had technical issues. 

Chair of the Management Board of the Georgian State Electrosystem Sulkhan Zumburidze said that work to restore the system was currently underway.
