Opposition Party Vice-President Attacked Outside His Home

Armenian National Congress Party (HAK) Vice-President and (HAK) parliamentary faction secretary Aram Manukyan was attacked last night at approximately 8pm near his home. An unknown person approached Manukyan near his home at 2/2 Sose St. and punched him in the face without saying a word and ran away. Manukyan has a fracture near his right eye and was diagnosed with a concussion. The MP was examined by a forensic doctor and submitted a report to the police.

HAK MP Levon Zurabyan told journalists that “the organizers of the attack had specifically chosen the location because it was on a quiet street, however the attack had not been not planned well because the surrounding area was being filmed and the attack was cought on a camera.”

The MP tied the incident with the attacks on veterans during the past few days and noted that the authorities wished to break-up the popular movement with such actions.

Zurabyan also stated that all Ambassadors in Armenia had been informed about the incident.
