Former Armenian MP’s Son and Brother Injured in an Explosion at a Gas Station

Three people suffered severe injuries and were taken to the Research Center of Radiation Medicine and Burns in Yerevan following an explosion at a gas station on Ejmiatsin highway on Tuesday, May 26, Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations reported.

According to News.am, the gas station belongs to Hakob Hakobyan, former MP of the Armenian National Assembly. Among those injured in the fire were Hakobyan's son, Armen Hakobyan, as well as the former MP's brother, Armen Hakobyan, and en employee of the station Artur Gasparyan.

The injured have been taken to the intensive care department; they are in a critical condition, Norayr Davtyan, head of the burn center, said to News.am. Hakob Hakobyan's son suffered burns covering more than 40% of total body surface area, while the former MP's brother had burns covering about 86% of TBSA.
