Mother Seeking Child Custody Proves Officials Forged Birth Records

Narine Nikoghosyan (pictured) is waiting to be awarded custody of her child, and the criminal proceedings against Edison Adyan who, as Nikoghosyan claims, kidnapped her child are secondary, Epress.am was told by Nikoghosyan's attorney, Lernik Hovhannisyan.

“There is no animosity, or a wish that Adyan be sent to prison. The priority is that the child is given back,” Hovhannisyan said.

During a hearing at the Administrative Court on Thursday the mother presented facts that the Kanaker-Zeytun territorial department of Civil Acts Registration Office forged the baby's birth documents. Based on these facts, in the birth registration act the baby's last name was first listed as “Nikoghosyan” which was later crossed out and changed to “Adyan.”

The Registration Office failed to provide any arguments against the legitimacy of Nikoghosyan's documents. 

“According to the Administrative Procedure Code if a party does not deny the presented evidence then they must be considered sufficient and true,” the attorney said.
