More ‘Daredevils of Sasun’ Members Captured by Security Forces, One Reportedly Missing

In as-yet-unknown circumstances, Armenia’s security forces today captured two more members of the armed group who for two weeks have been occupying a police compound in Yerevan’s Erebuni district. According to an official statement issued by Police, Ruben Grigoryan and Gevorg Melkonyan “have been taken out of the seized territory.”

As previously reported, another gunman, Sedrak Nazaryan, was today rushed to a hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to his chest.

Meanwhile, Founding Parliament opposition movement reports that “Daredevils of Sasun” member Eduard Grigoryan (pictured) “has gone missing” after reportedly being taken to Yerevan’s Surb Grigor Lusavorich hospital two days ago. Lawyers have been searching in vain to locate Grigoryan.

Founding Parliament demands that authorities provide information regarding the exact whereabouts of the gunman and warns that “full responsibility for his disappearance and all possible consequences falls on Serzh Sargsyan.”

Law enforcement authorities have yet to comment on the situation.
