Sick Armenian Conscript to Continue Service Under Medical Supervision

Husik Kirakosyan, a 19-year-old Armenian conscript suffering from health problems, will continue his service under medical supervision, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense said in response to an appeal by Kirakosyan’s lawyer Armine Sadikyan.

Recall, Kirakosyan, who has been suffering from constant abdominal pains and heartburn, was discharged from the hospital and sent back to his unit in Jabrayil after being diagnosed with exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and right-side purulent hemisinusitis. On April 21, his lawyer appealed for the defense ministry not to send Kirakosyan back to service until his health problems were resolved.

“The ministry replied that Kirakosyan has been found fit for service with some restrictions. They have decided to provide him with medical supervision for any potential health threats,” Sadikyan told Epress.am on Wednesday, adding that they are currently deciding on further action.
