Miner Dead in Mining Accident in Armenia’s Lori Province

A 38-year-old miner was killed on Monday morning as a result of a collapse in an underground mine in Armenia’s Lori province. The accident, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, took place at the Shamlugh copper mine operated by the Akhtala Mining and Processing Enterprise.

The Akhtala unit of the Special Mine Rescue Service, the ministry said, arrived at the scene shortly to clear and strengthened the mine site.
