Yerevan Transgender Woman Out of Intensive Care

The transgender woman who was on February 28 brutally beaten up in her Yerevan apartment is showing signs of improvement and has been taken out of intensive care, Right Side NGO head Lilit Martirosyan told Epress.am on Monday. The victims, she said, is already able to speak.

“Her condition has been changing for the better. She is no longer in intensive care, and we will soon probably find out when she’ll be discharged. She was questioned by an investigator two days ago.”

Recall, Right Side lawyer Vahe Manukyan had earlier informed us that law enforcement authorities had launched a criminal case under article 112 of Armenia’s criminal code – intentional infliction of serious harm to health. Shamshyan.com, in turn, later reported that the suspect has been released on his own recognizance.
