Armenian Schools to Receive State-Funded Computers

The Government of Armenia decided to allocate 700 million AMD (about $1.9 million USD) from its reserve funds to the RA Ministry of Education and Science to purchase new computers for state educational institutions. This will allow the purchase of 250 computer packages (each package includes numerous computers).

“This is crucial as we have the RA president’s commission to raise the level of computerization in schools considering that Armenia, in this area, still lags behind many countries. And if information technology is a priority for us, naturally, we have to pay great attention to the level of teaching in schools and whether they have computers or not. The situation is, regretfully, far from being satisfactory, and we still have much to do in this field,” said Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
