The cause of all the misfortune in Armenia is the forming of illegal government. The people have lost trust in the authorities. Playing ‘House’ is sitting in parliament and voting for others, said People’s Party of Armenia secretary Felix Khachatryan, commenting on Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) vice chair Galust Sahakyan’s earlier statement today that the Armenian National Congress (HAK) plays House, while HHK “doesn’t want to play that game.”<\/p>\n
To Sahakyan’s statement that the opposition arena in Armenia is not limited only to HAK, Khachatryan said he sees a tendency toward gaining time.<\/p>\n
“What does it mean that there are other opposition parties if those oppositionists don’t demand pre-term presidential and parliamentary elections? That’s how we see it. If they see it another way, let them say so. That doesn’t mean that for three, four months we have to specify the format, then begin; lose time, then say, oh, the time for regular elections came \u2014 I don’t accept that,” said Khachatryan, who is among HAK’s “delegation team” in its dialogue with the authorities. Note, the People’s Party of Armenia is one of the political parties of the umbrella opposition bloc, HAK.<\/p>\n
As for HHK press secretary Eduard Sharmazanov’s statement that HHK is prepared to defend in the National Assembly any realistic suggestions put forth by HAK, well, according to Khachatryan, since they haven’t yet presented their agenda, there’s no issue of presenting issues to parliament just yet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
