As last year, the British Embassy in Armenia will again be celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday at Lovers’ Park in Yerevan \u2014 this time on Jun. 8 at 6 pm. Though Her Majesty’s birthday actually falls on Apr. 21, the monarch’s “official birthday” is celebrated in June, with the exact date varying from country to country.<\/p>\n
The press release issued by the British Embassy in Armenia notes that the occasion is an opportunity not only to drink a toast to the queen, but also to raise current issues: this year, these issues include people with special needs and paralympic sports.<\/p>\n
In Yerevan, there will be performances by Unison<\/strong><\/span><\/a> NGO and the Paros Chamber Choir<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. The British Embassy notes that many members of the Paros choir have disabilities (many use a wheelchair) and that the award-winning Paros Chamber Choir was established in 1993 and has toured internationally.
